Top seed Roger Federer managed a straight-sets win over France's Julien Benneteau in the fourth round. Federer was not at the fluent best but came through winning 6-4 7-5 7-5 over the unseeded Frenchman. He will face Chile's Fernando Gonzalez in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, French hope Gael Monfils thrilled the home crowd with a win over Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic to reach the last eight. Monfils beat the 28th seed in four sets to set up a clash with Spain’s David Ferrer.
