Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic lost the first set before recovering to beat Denis Gremelmayr the first round of the French Open at Roland Garros. The number three seed won in four sets four six, six three, seven five six two. Djokovic faces Spain's Miguel Angel Lopez Jaen in round two. Women’s second seed Ana Ivanovic cruised through her first round match winning in straight sets. The 2007 runner up beat Sweden's Sofia Arvidsson 6-2, 7-5 in a repeat of the pair's first round meeting last year.
