Makhaya Ntni though he claimed a hattrick he said that he was unaware of the feat. Ntni claimed a wicket of the last ball of his first spell by cleaning up Sourav Ganguly and then claimed two wickets of the first two balls of his second spells where he scalped Debarata das and Laxmi Ratan Shukla. He became the third bowler after Balaji and Mishra to get a hattrick in the IPL.
